Door to Somewhere, open field in Guadalupita, New Mexico
On one of my adventurous drives around New Mexico, I discovered Guadalupita, an unincorporated community located in Mora County, the base of eastern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Guadalupita has a post office that officially opened November 25, 1879.
Taking a left turn at the Catholic Church, heading towards Angle Fire, I spot this broken-down old adobe building in an open field just asking me to take its photograph. To me, it looked like an old sheep herder’s building with the open broken door inviting me inside, but the boarded-up window telling me to stay away.
